I'm inspired by 3 things: loneliness, frustration, and complete child-like nonsensical imagination. The latter takes up my time these days.

Oh I write to tell you of the treasure I’ve found
Explosions of color you see as a sound
As round as a square man! And as soft as a rock
He’d sing to you sweetly, but this on can’t talk
Oh he’s got no voice, but his gui-tar can sing
And he’s got no choice, but speak with six strings
It’ll take you to wheeeere… y’a never been there before
And I’ll bet you’ll stay… for two nights or more

He told me a story of a man with no eyes
Who talked up a storm of a handsome sunrise
They skies were, he said, of a translucent grey
They say he can’t see, but God said he may
Oh the man with no voice, his guitar let me see
Thousands of landscapes, birds, and a sea
He takes me to wheeere… I’ve never been there before
And I think I’ll stay here for two nights or more

He harked back on journey of a man with a doubt
The meaning of life, God, was is this about?!
Then he found truth, something he could believe
The man with no voice had a trick up his sleeve
He pulls rabbits from hats when he bats his grey eyes
All doubt was diminished and truth was realized
Miraculous stairs, I swear I’ve been there before
Don’t know him an angel, but a magician for sure

And finally he wrote down a favor that day
The napkin he passed said, “Go on your way
And tell of these journeys with a beautiful voice
I’d do it myself, boy, by I have no choice.”
Oh he’s got no voice, but his gui-tar can sing
And he’s got no choice, but speak with six strings
It’ll take you to wheeeere… y’a never been there before
And I’ll bet you’ll stay… for two nights or more

(I) I traveled in a convoy of (IV) men with common (I) aim
To a tavern on the eastside (V) through miles of sleet and rain.
(I) I bought a round of (IV) moonshine, “Here’s (I) to the wicked (IV) chase.”
The (I) eyes of sad sinful demise, (V) plastered on my face.

A second round from down the bar told me I’ve found a spot
To make a first impression of everything I’m not
By then a heinous lethal drug took over in my mind.
Before I rob this lonely bar, I’m gonna make her mine.

T’was another lifetime, I’ve been through this before.
A thief he needs a partner, but how can one be sure?
Is she shattered like my innocence on that long-forgotten morn?
A deceptive calm, like the eye of a foul n’ rotten storm.

I spoke but not a single word, giving her a handsome nod.
Satan lost control of me, her eyes were full of God.
Approaching her I spoke, but words were not to be.
The light flickered as I arrived, too mysteriously.

She motioned to the empty stool, a void so full of hope.
“Poor this man a drink bar-keep.” And handed me a smoke.
Her lips shot a message that chilled me to the bone.
Could this muddy trail I’ve traveled have lead me to a home?

I showed her to my carriage of despair and fruitless tries
And promised her it was a chariot in the early morn sunrise.
The skies had formed a cauldron of the Demon’s darkest grey.
She seemed to take no notice, saying “Let’s be on our way.”

I left without a purpose or a dollar in my hand.
The rain was pouring beauty across the lonely land.
I handed her the reigns to the creature with no name.
She woah’ed her back, went through her sack, and began to comb her mane.

I think I’ll name her Rocket, let’s get this horse a drink.
I felt my empty pocket, my dark heart began to sink.
It won’t cost a dime, just some time, we’ll walk her to the brook
Just beyond that hilltop village. Go on and take a look.

The nearly lifeless steed pulled us through the foliage and the mire.
My eyes could not believe it. Driven purely by desire
To be cared for and treated like a member of the tribe.
This loyal horse kept me alive. I almost let her die.

When we reached the hilltop village, I was shocked by the sight.
A festive air surrounded us, the night so full of light.
As I turned to my new partner, she had given me a wink.
There’s much for you to learn, but first we owe Rocket a drink.

My horse she drank and never once did my tongue sound a word.
But there was conversation, I swear to you I heard
Every thought in this young girl’s mind, and I still don’t have her name.
As rocket finished fueling up, she again combed her mane.

Now for what I tell you next my friend, I suggest you should sit down
This lively little village was not even a town.
I stared in blatant disbelief and I watched her mount the mare.
She dug her heals into her side and took off through the air.

For hours then I remained there, no direction came to mind.
Awaiting her return, I was gonna’ make her mine.
Suddenly I realized why she left and took my ride.
That loyal horse kept me alive, and I have left her die.

There are many morals herein, my friend, I’m sure you’ve figured out.
You can’t walk through life so god damned full of doubt.
Don’t take for granted anything, cherish what you’ve got,
Be a man of honor, and hope heaven has your spot.

Satan Left Me
~ but she left me the house ~

Verse 1:

Lay upon a paved bedspread
To cry about the way we lie.
Wonder thoughtless thoughts of life.
Bring slumber right to where I lie.

Wake upon this road to nowhere.
A familiar route to where I live.
Break apart the path to go there.
Please don't laugh; it's there I live.

It's there I sleep and there I dream.
It's never deep. It always seems
To be the reason I should stand
And fight for all my little things.

The things I hark, you'll never know of.
You'll see me spark. See me blow up.
Show up late to norm's farewell
And fall down dormant in bourbon's hell.

Awaken then to the bells of God
Or Satan's strings inside my head.
He's taken all my spells but left me
With the Eve who nourished in Eden's dread

Half the man I used to be.
Still twice the man she'll ever need.
So cut me in two and leave me for you...
If you leave, I still have half of me.

Verse 2:

Tell a friend and tell a foe.
Tell the world of your despair.
The smell; the scent; the taste of sweat.
To sell or rent; she makes it wet.

To set aside the lifetime trying
And give yourself to you, but why?
You'll rest before there's time to cry,
If she'll sing your soul a lullaby.

As high as hopes, the farthest wish.
The mighty ropes that hoist the fish.
She touches with those fingertips...
"Men… send it back to sea."

Tossed aside. Forgotten quickly.
It's not the ride I've gotten lately.
When I decide the apple's rotten,
Give it to Eve... dance in her coffin.

Soften lips and wait for death.
Most often it’s the waste of breath.
To say I love you, since she ate
The apple, Adam... it's too late.

Half the man I used to be.
Still twice the man she'll ever need.
So cut me in two and leave me for you...
If you leave, I still have half of me.

I believed, but you went astray.
Today's the day after I thought I would die.
I'm relieved, cuz now I can finally say.
I only think about you when I lie.
Now you’re out of my head. So get out of my heart,
before I start to lose what I need.
Your knife in my spine intends to tear me apart.
I must be willing to bleed.
So easily sold out. It's time to get old now.
Rolled up bits and pieces of my life in a joint.
Put it to fire and watch the flame pull down.
If you listen, I hope you're not missin’ the point.
